Privacy Policy

• We collect your email address to create your account, and we store the content you create so we can sync it between your devices.
• We never sell your data, we show no ads, and today we run no third-party analytics or trackers.
• Payments are handled by Stripe and Apple. We never see or store your full card number.
• Contacts access on iPhone is optional and one-way: you pick what to import, and your address book is never uploaded wholesale.
• You can delete your account — and all of its data — at any time, in the app or by emailing us.

Account information. When you sign up, our authentication provider, Clerk, collects your email address and, if you choose to provide it, your name. We use this to create and secure your account and to send essential service emails (such as receipts, trial reminders, and security notices).

Your content. Kept In Mind exists to store what you put into it: people and the details you record about them, to-dos, notes and flash cards, canvases, and calendar entries. This content is stored in a Postgres database hosted by Supabase, encrypted in transit and at rest. We access it only to operate the service — for example, to sync it to your devices — never to profile you or to market to you.

Payment information. Subscriptions purchased on the web are processed by Stripe; subscriptions purchased on iPhone are processed by Apple. Your card number and full payment details go directly to those processors — we never receive or store them. We keep only what we need to manage your subscription: its status, plan, and renewal date.

Server logs and diagnostics. Like nearly every online service, our servers keep short-lived technical logs (such as IP address, request time, and error details) used solely for security, debugging, and abuse prevention.

What we don’t collect. We run no advertising, no ad trackers, and — today — no third-party analytics. If we ever add privacy-respecting analytics, we will update this policy first.

The iPhone app can optionally connect to your device’s contacts to make linking people faster. This access works entirely on your device: when you choose to link or import a contact, only the fields you select for that person (such as name and birthday) are copied into Kept In Mind. It is a one-way import — we never modify your address book, and we never upload your contact list to our servers. You can revoke contacts access at any time in iOS Settings, and the app keeps working without it.

The iPhone app keeps a local copy of your content so it opens instantly and works offline. That local data is protected by your device’s built-in encryption and is removed if you delete the app.

• To provide the service: storing, syncing, and displaying your content across your devices.
• To manage billing: starting trials, processing subscriptions, and sending receipts.
• To support you: answering emails you send us and investigating problems you report.
• To keep the service safe: preventing abuse, fraud, and unauthorized access.

We do not sell your personal information, we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers, and we do not use your content to train AI models.

We share data only with the vendors that make the service run, and only what each one needs:

• Clerk — authentication (your email address and sign-in credentials).
• Supabase — database hosting for your content.
• Stripe — payment processing for web subscriptions.
• Apple — payment processing for in-app purchases on iPhone.
• Vercel — hosting for this website and the web app.

Each provider is bound by its own contractual and legal obligations to protect your data. We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of our users or the company.

We keep your content for as long as your account is active. You can delete individual items at any time, and you can delete your entire account from the app’s settings or by emailing uncle.brk@gmail.com. When you delete your account, your content is removed from our production systems within 30 days, and from encrypted backups within 90 days. Records we are legally required to keep (such as payment records) are retained only as long as the law requires.

Your data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access to production systems is limited, authenticated, and logged. No online service can promise perfect security, but if we ever learn of a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you as required by law.

Kept In Mind is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

• Access and update your content anytime in the app.
• Export or request a copy of your data by emailing us.
• Delete your account and all of its data, in-app or by email.
• Revoke contacts access anytime in iOS Settings.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law. Email us and we will honor them.

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, notify you by email or in the app before they take effect.
